Predictronics is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop the specifications and manage the successful installation of our data acquisition systems for various predictive monitoring and predictive quality projects. This will include recommending and selecting the appropriate sensors, deciding on the appropriate settings for the data collection (triggering, sampling rates/DSP settings), recommending the appropriate methods for the installation of the sensors, and the configuration of our data collection software (PDX DAQ). In addition, working with the customer to understand the various signal tags that are available in the control system and what protocols can be used to extract the controller data will also be considered. The ideal candidate should have experience on sensor selection and data collection systems for industrial applications and should feel comfortable with interfacing with our various industrial customers and our consultant and software teams, to better understand the project objectives and requirements.
The individual in this position would work with the consultant, software development, and leadership teams, to develop and install the various data collection systems for our industrial customers. It would also be expected that the individual would provide feedback and input on additional sensing methods or data collection hardware we should support for future versions of our data collection software.
This position reports to the current Chief Technical Officer with additional input and oversight from the current Chief Executive Officer.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in relevant majors, such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related engineering fields. Some professional experience is a definite plus, especially in automation, sensing, and data collection. Any prior interest or experience in the field of data analytics—or a related technical field—would also be an asset.
